Installation

X-Cart 4.x installation

  1. Download Magic Slideshow for X-Cart 4.x (free and fully functional demo version).
  2. Unzip the file on your computer and FTP the magicslideshow folder to your X-Cart directory (on your server), keeping the file and folder structure intact.
  3. Go to http://www.yoursite.url/magicslideshow/ in your browser > click 'Install' (replace yoursite.url with your domain name).
  4. Go to http://your.site.url/admin/magicslideshow.php and configure Magic Slideshow as you wish.
  5. That's all
  6. Buy Magic Slideshow To upgrade your free and fully functional trial version of Magic Slideshow (which removes the "Trial version" text), buy Magic Slideshow and overwrite following file with the same one from your licensed version:

  1. Go to Magic Slideshow on the X-Cart market to buy this X-Cart 5 addon.
  2. Click 'Add to cart' > Follow payment process.

     Go to: the Admin area of your store > Extensions > Marketplace.
  4. Enter 'Magic Slideshow' in the search field.
  5. Tick checkbox 'Install' next to Magic Slideshow module name.
  6. Click 'Install modules' button
  7. Magic Slideshow is now installed.
  8. To customize Magic Slideshow, go to: Extensions > Installed modules > Magic Slideshow module > Click 'Settings'. Configure how you would like Magic Slideshow to look on your website.

Manual integration

Alternatively, you can follow these instructions to install Magic Slideshow manually on your X-Cart 5 website.

  1. If a previous version of the module is installed, uninstall it.
  2. Download Magic Slideshow for X-Cart 5 (free and fully functional demo version).
  3. Unzip the contents of the ZIP file and upload the classes and skin folders to your X-Cart 5 directory.
  4. Login to your X-Cart 5 admin area and re-build the cache: System settings -> Re-build cache link in the menu.
  5. Enable the Magic Slideshow module on the 'Installed Modules' page and press 'Save changes' button via Extensions > Installed modules.
  6. Go to the Magic Slideshow module settings page via Extensions > Installed modules > Magic Slideshow settings and configure Magic Slideshow how you want it.
  7. Magic Slideshow is ready to use!

It's easy to setup a slideshow on your X-Cart homepage. Try it now:

  1. Go to http://your.site.url/admin/magicslideshow.php in your browser.
  2. Home page slideshow section in X-Cart module Magic Slideshow
     Select Home page Slideshow section > Select tick for Enable effect.
  3. Upload home page slideshow images in X-Cart module Magic Slideshow
     Select Upload images and browse your computer for your set of slideshow images.
  4. Your slideshow is now working!

     Slideshow will automatically resize to the size of your images. To set a specific slideshow size, change Slideshow width (pixels) and Slideshow height (pixels) options.

Uninstallation

Great product with stellar service
I have been using Slideshow for some time and am very happy with it. We decided that we wanted to change our banner a bit and needed support. Magic Toolbox came up with the perfect fix in less than an hour and at no additional cost. X-Cart would do good to learn from Magic Toolbox.
