Magic Zoom^™ for Joomla and VirtueMart

    

There is now only one module for both Joomla and VirtueMart. It's easier than ever. To use the image zoom on VirtueMart 1.1, choose the Joomla 1.0.x module.

Instructions

1. Upload and install the module.
2. Open the module settings and publish it.
3. Set "show title" to off.
4. Enjoy

Note: since VirtueMart changed it's API in March 2008, it's not possible to show zooming on the browse pages.

Download the trial, then upgrade to the full version once you are happy.

To upgrade from the trial version, just overwrite the mz-packed.js file with the same file from the full version. It is located here:

• Joomla 1.5: /modules/mod_virtuemart_magiczoom/magiczoom_virtuemart
• Joomla 1.0.x: /modules/magiczoom_virtuemart

The trial version of Magic Zoom^™ displays a "please upgrade" message for images larger than 300px.

Did you know? Joomla added plugins as well as modules when it moved from 1.0 to 1.5. We initally issued a VirtueMart plugin but have since changed it to a module.

Old instructions

The instructions below are only for the previous versions of the VirtueMart and Joomla modules/plugins.

Integration with VirtueMart (Joomla 1.5)

1. Download and install the Magic Zoom™ Joomla 1.5 Virtuemart plugin (containing free trial version of Magic Zoom^™).
2. Download and install the Magic Zoom™ Joomla 1.5 content plugin.
3. Enable both the plugins.
4. Go to Components > VirtueMart > Admin > Configuration > Global and tick the checkbox "Enable content mambots / plugins in descriptions?".
5. It's ready!

To upgrade to the full version, buy Magic Zoom^™ and upload the mz-packed.js file to this folder: /plugins/system/magiczoom.

Integration with VirtueMart (Joomla 1.0)

1. Download the mod_virtuemart_magiczoom module (free trial version).
2. Install it using the Joomla installer menu.
3. Open the module properties: Modules > Site Modules > VirtueMart MagicZoom Module.
4. Set "show title" to OFF.
5. Publish the module.
6. You've done it!

To upgrade to the full version, buy Magic Zoom^™ and upload the mz-packed.js file to this folder: /modules/magiczoom_virtuemart. The trial version of Magic Zoom^™ displays a "please upgrade" message for images larger than 300px.

If you are also using the Magic Zoom^™ Joomla general content module, then you can unpublish that module. Your site only needs the Magic Zoom^™ VirtueMart module.

If you have installed and published the module but nothing happens, try changing the Mode parameter in the module properties.

To customize colors and borders, edit the MagicZoom.css file located in /modules/magiczoom_virtuemart/MagicZoom.css. Also, look at the customisation guide.
